Practice Manager – General Practice

We are seeking a professional, organised and approachable leader who can oversee the day-to-day operations of our medical practices while supporting our doctors, nurses and administrative team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the daily operations of the medical practices.
- Lead, support and supervise reception, nursing and administrative staff.
- Coordinate staff recruitment, induction, training, performance and rostering.
- Maintain compliance with RACGP Standards, accreditation requirements and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Oversee Medicare billing, WorkCover, TAC and private billing processes.
- Monitor accounts, payroll information, budgets and operational expenses.
- Develop and maintain practice policies, procedures and staff communication systems.
- Manage patient feedback, complaints and service‑improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate doctors’ provider numbers, registrations, contracts and onboarding.
- Support GP registrars, supervisors and training‑program requirements.
- Liaise with pathology providers, allied health professionals, suppliers and external organisations.




- Promote efficient workflows, teamwork and continuous quality improvement across the practices.

Essential Requirements

- Previous experience in managing a general practice or healthcare organisation.
- Strong understanding of medical practice operations, Medicare and accreditation requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to manage staff professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing responsibilities.
- Confidence using practice‑management and office software.
- Ability to work independently and across multiple practice locations when required.

Experience with *

- Best Practice software, RACGP accreditation, payroll, HR management, WorkCover and TAC billing*
- will be highly regarded.
