Shearform has been a leading steel processor servicing Australia for over 40 years. We are a growing business specialising in laser cutting, bending, rolling and fabrication of metal products for a wide variety of industries.

About the role

n

As the Fabrication Business Manager, you will oversee the on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be working closely with a team of highly skilled top-tier fabricators, welders, qualified engineers and inspectors. Whilst supporting your customer base, you will be required to prepare estimates and quotes, reviewing tenders and contracts, procuring materials, goods and services, initiating production documents and sign off completed jobs.

Key responsibilities

- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project execution
n
- Monitor production progress, prepare reports, forecasts and manage inspection/testing programs with the QA/QC team
n
- Work with tier 1 business partners through live portals and online project tracking
n
- Preparation of project information required for estimates and large tenders
n
- Design,



produce and interpret drawings and documentation for various works as needed
n
- Supporting Workshop Supervisor and workshop team
n
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, welding standards, and Australian quality requirements
n
- Support the business in the planning and execution of works
n
- Prepare costing sheets with accurate information for billing
n
- Support the control of projects to ensure delivery in accordance with time, cost and quality

About you

n

n
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
n
- Minimum 5 years industry experience, including steel estimating
n
- Solid leadership, production planning, workflow optimisation, and cost-management skills
n
- Advanced technical knowledge of fabrication processes and Australian standards
n
- Knowledge of CAD and nesting programmes is required
n
- M1 ERP experience or similar would be advantageous
n
- Ability to liaise with existing and potential clients in a sales and engineering capacity
n
- High level of organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
n
- Communication skills, with the ability to lead and liaise with a workshop team
n
