Partnering with Kenworth Trucks, Alstom and other major customers for their assembly and manufacturing requirements. We are the largest supplier to Kenworth Trucks (the leading manufacturer of premium Commercial Trucks sold around the world).

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This is a hands‑on role best suited to someone who has previously operated CNC laser cutting and press brake (folding) machinery and has developed a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing processes and production requirements through practical experience.

Working closely with the operations team, you will be responsible for CNC laser and press brake programming, interpreting engineering drawings, creating and modifying CAD files, preparing and optimising nesting layouts, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and ensuring jobs are programmed accurately and efficiently. You will play an important role in supporting production schedules, maximising material utilisation and delivering quality products that meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.

We are looking for someone with experience using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, who understands the realities of the workshop floor and can apply that knowledge to programming, problem‑solving and continuous improvement. Experience with nesting software is not essential, as training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities

- Program CNC laser cutting and CNC press brake machinery to meet production requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
- Create, modify and maintain CAD drawings and manufacturing files using SolidWorks and related software.
- Prepare and optimise nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and support production schedules.




- Develop and maintain laser cutting and press brake programs to ensure accurate and productive production.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production documentation, job files and CNC programs.
- Troubleshoot programming, manufacturing and production issues.
- Collaborate with production personnel to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Support production planning, scheduling and workflow requirements to meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Optimise machine efficiency, production outcomes and workflow performance.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintain a safe, organised and professional work environment.
- Work closely operations team members to achieve customer delivery requirements.

About you

- Demonstrated experience operating CNC laser cutting and press brake (folding) machinery.
- Experience programming CNC laser and/or press brake equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and manufacturing workflows.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and/or other CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and production requirements.
- Experience preparing manufacturing files, nests and production programs.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills with a practical, hands‑on approach.
- Understanding of tooling, material utilisation and production efficiency principles.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively to production schedules and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Committed to workplace safety, continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
- Trade qualification in Engineering, Fabrication, Sheet Metal or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
