We are looking for an experiencedInfrastructure Engineerto join a technical team responsible for maintaining and supporting secure, highly available network infrastructure. This role will focus on gateway technologies, network architecture, security controls and infrastructure operations within a complex enterprise environment. This role will be a 12-month fixed term contract with opportunity for extension, based in office in Canberra.

What You'll Do

n

n
- Maintain and support network gateway and infrastructure components in line with established architectures, standards and methodologies.
n
- Design and implement network infrastructure across data centre and enterprise environments.
n
- Translate logical network designs into physical solutions that meet capacity, performance and operational requirements.
n
- Provide specialist technical advice on network architecture, infrastructure and security solutions.
n
- Contribute to network recovery, contingency planning and alternative architecture design.
n
- Identify technical risks and develop appropriate solutions and countermeasures.
n
- Investigate network and security incidents, including suspected attacks, and support incident management activities.
n
- Apply and support physical, procedural and technical security controls.
n
- Contribute to operational policies, procedures, change initiatives and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

n

n
- Strong experience designing and deploying enterprise network infrastructure.
n




- Hands-on experience withCisco ACI, Cisco routers, Nexus switchesand routing protocols includingBGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
n
- Strong knowledge ofPalo Alto firewalls and IPS solutions.
n
- Experience withF5, Blue Coat, Citrix NetScaler or Broadcom SWG, including Layer 4–7 switching, load balancing and proxy technologies.
n
- Experience designing and implementingVPN, DNS and email infrastructure, including Infoblox solutions.
n
- Experience integratinghybrid and public cloud servicesinto enterprise environments.
n
- Strong understanding of network security, architecture, troubleshooting and incident management.
n
- Knowledge of Australian Government information security frameworks, including theInformation Security Manual (ISM)andEssential Eight, would be highly regarded.
n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide technical advice to both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
n
- This role requires TPSV Security Clearance.
