Job Description

What you will be doing:
n
Solutions Engineers are trusted technical advisors who help customers get the most out ofNearmap'sImagery, 3D, and AI products. Working closely with Sales,you'lllead technical engagements across the full customer lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery and solution design through to post-sale adoption.
n
We'relooking for an experienced geospatial professional with a consultative mindset, strong technical fluency across APIs, cloud, and GIS platforms, and the communication skills to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders. You'llneed an outgoing, people-first personality, someone who genuinely enjoys presenting anddemonstrating, and whoisn'tafraid to lead difficult conversations with anyone from technical engineers to CEOs.

Responsibilities:
n
Lead strategic discovery engagements with customers and prospects to understand their workflows, data ecosystems, and business challenges.
n
Act as a trusted advisor, shaping client strategy and solution architecture, and building executive-level relationships across pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales.
n
Design and deliver tailored demos and scalable, scenario-based demonstrations that show howNearmap'sproducts solve real customer problems.
n
Identifyupsell and expansion opportunities, and advise customers on API, offline product, and custom application strategies.
n
Lead integration and onboarding for new customers,
providing hands-on technical support and best-practice guidance.
n
Act astechnicalliaison to Product and Engineering, surfacing customer feedback, bugs, and feature gaps, and partner with SalesEnablement ontraining programs.
n
Coordinate with Survey Operations to scope and deliver custom aerial flights and offline products.
n
RepresentNearmapas a thought leader through content, webinars, and industry events, and mentor junior Solutions Engineers.
n
Qualifications
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with geospatial exposure.
n
- 3-5 years in a customer-facing technical role (e.g.Solutions Engineer, Civil Engineer, Software Engineer, Data Scientist), combining technical depth with business acumen.
n
- Proven pre-salestrack record, with a history of influencing technical buying decisions and driving customer success.
n
n
Skills
n
n
- Advancedproficiencywith APIs, programming (especially Python), and custom web GIS application development.
n
- Hands-on experience with geospatial platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
n
- Solid understanding of AI and machine learning, and how it applies to geospatial analysis.
n
- Experience with imagery analysis, photogrammetry, or remote sensing is a plus.
n
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging audiences from technical teams to C-suite.
n
