About the Role

n

As an Accountant, you will maintain accurate financial records across a range of activities, including reconciliations, month-end processes, and general ledger maintenance. Working closely with finance and operational teams, you will support the Financial Controller with budgeting, sustainability reporting, audit preparation, and general finance support. To succeed, you'll bring strong attention to detail, accountability, confidentiality, and the ability to manage deadlines reliably.

About you

n

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline (completion of, or working towards, a CA/CPA qualification will be an advantage)

n

Minimum 2–3 years' experience in an accounting or finance role

n

Sound knowledge of general ledger codes, cost centres, and reconciliations

n

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial information

n

Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills

n

Confident communicator who works effectively with stakeholders across the business

n

A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage deadlines independently when required

n

Experience with accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, and Microsoft 365

n

Basic knowledge of Bills of Materials and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB/IFRS)

n

Familiarity with the various payroll systems

n

Experience in the construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors

n

Key Responsibilities

n





Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)

n

Own the month-end close process and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and consolidations

n

Manage the fixed asset register and support capital expenditure reporting

n

Maintain the general ledger and complete balance sheet reconciliations

n

Maintain company small tool registers and the low value asset pool

n

Assist with the annual year-end audit, preparing schedules and supporting documentation

n

Support budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis activities

n

Assist with preparation of the company's Sustainability Report

n

Manage the cost control and valuation of Speedpanel stock, ensuring accurate reporting

n

Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly

n

Assist with the preparation and lodgement of BAS, GST, FBT, and other statutory returns

n

Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, reporting processes, and finance workflows

n

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide practical finance support across the business

n

Provide backup support for payroll processing as required
