About the Role:

n

Mader International Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Mobile Mechanic to join our Somerton, Victoria workshop and manufacturing facility.

n

Reporting directly to the Manager, this is a hands‐on role within our Somerton Mobile Group, primarily responsible for the servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, mechanical repairs and general maintenance of emergency vehicles.

n

You will play an important role in keeping emergency vehicles in service while supporting our customers and contributing to the community.

n

About the Relief Mobile Mechanic Role

n

This position is primarily a relief mobile mechanic role, providing coverage for our scheduled mobile servicing roster. Monday to Sunday 24 hours a day. ( divided between 4 shifts per day)

n

When required, you will work on the road attending customer locations using company Vehicle and carrying out servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs on emergency vehicles.

n

When you are not required to cover a mobile roster shift, you will work within our Somerton workshop, assisting with vehicle servicing, repairs, mechanical work, general workshop duties and other operational requirements. Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

n

This provides an excellent opportunity for a mechanic who enjoys a varied role, with a combination of field-based mobile work and workshop-based mechanical work.

n

The successful applicant will need to be flexible and willing to work both independently on the road and as part of our workshop team.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

n

To succeed in this role, you will need:

n

n
- A minimum Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent recognised qualification
n
- Successfully completed a 3-4 years' automotive apprenticeship
n
- A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification trade experience as a qualified automotive mechanic
n
- Significant and recent experience in vehicle servicing and automotive mechanical repairs
n
- Experience carrying out routine and preventative vehicle maintenance
n
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
n
- Strong knowledge and experience in auto-electrical systems
n
- Experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, light vehicles or specialised vehicles
n
- A strong commitment to quality workmanship and safety
n
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
n
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
n
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
n
- A current ,valid and unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
n
- Be willing to undergo a police check as part of the pre-employment process
n
- Experience working on ambulances, emergency vehicles, commercial vehicles or specialised vehicles will be highly regarded
n
