/nMoor Newcastle East requires a Full time Chef located in Newcastle NSW 2300 with a minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Commercial cookery and three years of work experience in a similar role./n
/n
/nThe ideal candidates need to have a solid understanding busy kitchen operation and delivery of orders in time and quality. You will be reporting directly to the Manager and director of the company however, you will also display solid leadership skills as the kitchen hand staff, the waitresses and the delivery drivers will be reporting to you, and you may be required to train other kitchen staff and apprentices./n

/nSuccessful candidate must :/n
/n
/n• Have minimum three-year experience in a commercial kitchen./n
/n
/n• Have certificate IV in Commercial cooking/n
/n
/n
/n
/n
/n
/nDuties include:/n
/n
/n• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies/n
/n
/n• Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items,



based on food, labour, and overhead costs./n
/n
/n• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation/n
/n
/n• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff/n
/n
/n• Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus/n
/n
/n• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures/n
/n
/n• Preparing and cooking food/n
/n
/n• Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services./n
/n
/n• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation./n
/n
/n• explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations/n
/n
/n• Recruit and hire staff, including cooks and other kitchen workers./n
/n
/n• Providing effective training to staff/n
/n
/n
/n
