We are currently recruiting for a Security and Logistics Manager (Grade 9/10) for our client, a NSW Government agency based in Parramatta. This is a 12 month contract opportunity supporting one of Sydney's most significant public infrastructure and cultural projects. The role offers a 35-hour working week, with an on-call component, applicable allowance, and occasional evening or weekend work when operational requirements arise. Working within a complex, public-facing environment, you will lead security operations, emergency management planning, contract management and logistics functions, while playing a key role in preparations for the opening of a major new precinct.

The Opportunity

n

This role has become available to provide cover during a period of parental leave and will be instrumental in supporting operational readiness activities leading up to a major precinct opening. While Parramatta will be your primary focus, there may be opportunities to provide support across additional sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead emergency management planning, preparedness and response activities.
n
- Oversee all security operations across the precinct.
n
- Manage CCTV, access control and security technology systems.
n
- Drive security compliance, auditing, training and awareness programs.
n
- Manage outsourced security contracts and monitor service delivery performance.
n
- Act as the key escalation point for security and operational incidents.
n
- Support logistics functions to ensure safe and efficient site operations.
n
- Provide leadership and direction to large operational teams.
n
- Contribute to operational readiness activities associated with a major new facility opening.

About You

n

To be successful in this role,



you will bring significant experience in security management and emergency management within large, complex environments. You will be recognised as a subject matter expert in security operations and have a robust understanding of risk management, incident response and contract management. You will also possess:

- Experience managing large outsourced security contracts.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
n
- Proven capability leading operational teams in fast-paced environments.
n
- Experience working within high-traffic, customer-facing facilities.
n
- The ability to remain calm and decisive in complex operational situations.
n
- An understanding of logistics operations and their relationship to security functions.
n

- Museums, galleries, cultural or heritage organisations.
n
- Shopping centres and major retail precincts.
n
- Airports and aviation environments.
n
- Large public venues and event operations.
n
- Major infrastructure assets.

An appreciation for heritage assets, cultural institutions, collections and artefacts will be highly regarded.

n

Leadership Experience

n

This role requires robust people leadership capabilities. You will typically oversee teams of approximately 20-30 personnel, with responsibility for larger teams of up to 50 staff during major events and operational activities.
