We're looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a high-performing technology team on an initial 6-month contract. You'll help uplift automation, improve quality and support faster software delivery across web, mobile and API platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and uplift test automation frameworks

- Develop automated API, web and mobile tests

- Work with developers and QA teams on an automation-first approach

- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines
n
- Investigate and resolve flaky and unstable tests
n
- Conduct code reviews and maintain automation standards
n
- Identify opportunities to increase automation and reduce manual effort
n
- Support test environments, including Docker and cloud platforms
n
- Identify and manage testing risks and defects
n
- Coach and support QA team members on automation best practice
n

Automation Engineer

Rate: $750–$800 per day
n Location: Melbourne – Hybrid
n Contract: 6 months

Key Requirements

n

n
- Robust experience building or uplifting automation frameworks
n
- Hands-on Playwright or Cypress with TypeScript
n
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills
n
- API automation experience with tools such as SuperTest, Jest, Mocha, Chai or Cucumber
n
- Web/mobile automation experience using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebDriver, Appium or Detox
n
- Experience with Node.js and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
n
- Understanding of TDD, coding best practices and Agile delivery
n
- Exposure to AWS and Docker is advantageous
n
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
n
- Comfortable coaching others and challenging existing ways of working
n

Wagering or high-volume digital experience is desirable but not essential.
