The Prospect n

We are seeking a Senior, hands-on Solution Engineer to join an urgent Edge infrastructure modernisation program. The environment is moving to OpenShift across a large distributed footprint , and the team requires an experienced engineer who can come in with minimal ramp-up and contribute immediately to the implementation. This is not an OpenShift operations or support role . The key requirement is proven experience personally building, implementing and automating OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms , rather than simply operating or supporting an existing environment.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Implement and build OpenShift platform capabilities, including configuration, integration and automation.
n
- Develop repeatable deployment and implementation patterns.
n
- Work hands-on across Linux, OpenShift/Kubernetes, containers, compute, networking and automation .
n
- Translate technical designs and requirements into working platform solutions.
n
- Build automation for installation, configuration, deployment, upgrades, recovery and operational processes.
n
- Design and implement resilient, automated and self-healing platform capabilities where appropriate.
n
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, Linux, networking and container platforms.
n
- Build and validate solutions in a lab environment before wider deployment.
n
- Produce practical technical documentation, implementation procedures and runbooks.
n
- Work independently and make sound engineering decisions with minimal handholding.
n
- Proven hands-on experience implementing or building Red Hat OpenShift .
n
- Strong Kubernetes and container platform engineering experience.
n
- Strong Linux engineering and command-line troubleshooting capability.
n
- Experience with RHEL will be highly regarded.
n
- Strong automation experience using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Shell, Python and CI/CD tooling .
n
- Demonstrated experience building platform capabilities, environments or automation from scratch.
n




- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple infrastructure layers.
n
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical implementation approaches and engineering decisions.

Highly Regarded nn
- OpenShift implementation experience across on-premises, hybrid or distributed environments .
n
- Experience implementing automated recovery, self-healing, resilience or self-service platform capabilities.
n
- Deep RHEL/Linux engineering experience across operating system configuration, services, networking and permissions.
n
- Ansible Automation Platform experience.
n
- Experience working across Edge, branch, telco, warehouse, data centre or multi-site infrastructure environments .
n
- Networking experience covering areas such as routing, switching, VLANs, load balancing and physical connectivity.
n
- Ability to join an existing transformation program and become productive quickly.
n

What We’re Looking For n

The team is particularly interested in engineers who can clearly demonstrate what they have personally built . Strong candidates will be able to walk through an OpenShift or Kubernetes implementation from design through to build and automation , clearly explaining their individual ownership, technical decisions and how they solved current engineering challenges.
