Childcare Chef - Early Learning Service in Caulfield - 8am to 4pm each day

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Childcare Chef to lead daily food preparation, menu planning and safe kitchen operations within our early learning service. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating nutritious meals for children, understands dietary needs, and maintains the highest standards of hygiene, compliance and child safety. Working hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, including morning prep, morning tea service, and ongoing kitchen duties throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare daily meals and snacks, including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
- Plan and deliver a seasonal, nutritious menu aligned with ACECQA and healthy eating guidelines
- Manage food ordering, stock rotation and kitchen organisation
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and allergy management procedures
- Cater for allergies, intolerances, cultural needs and individual dietary requirements
- Ensure safe storage, preparation and service of all food




- Work collaboratively with educators to support children's wellbeing and routines
- Maintain a clean, sanitised kitchen environment at all times
- Complete daily records, temperature logs and compliance documentation
- Engage positively with families regarding dietary needs and menu updates

About you

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Preference is to have worked in a childcare or school setting previously.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Anaphylaxis Management Training
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check
- Demonstrated experience working in a childcare or early learning setting
- Strong understanding of allergy management, cross-contamination prevention and safe food handling
- Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills
- Commitment to child safety, wellbeing and regulatory compliance
