HARKE Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming Catholic secondary school in Melbourne’s western suburbs seeking a Humanities Teacher with a VCE Geography focus for a full-time, ongoing position commencing Term 1, 2027.

About the Role

The school is seeking a Humanities Teacher with the ability to teach VCE Geography. The successful teacher will have strong Geography curriculum knowledge and the confidence to deliver engaging senior secondary programs.



The broader Humanities teaching load can be shaped around the successful candidate’s additional teaching areas, experience and strengths.

Skills and Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities programs, with a particular focus on VCE Geography
- Develop students’ geographical knowledge, fieldwork, research, data analysis and critical thinking skills
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, student wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice
- Assess student learning and communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues and contribute positively to curriculum development and the wider school community

Requirements

- Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration
- Relevant secondary teaching qualifications
- Ability to teach Geography, with VCE Geography experience highly regarded
- Strong curriculum knowledge and effective classroom practice
- Willingness to support the Catholic values and ethos of the school
- Full Australian working rights
