YOUR ROLE

The Flourishing Learners Program Lead will oversee and coordinate the Flourishing Learners strategy, subsequent initiatives and roadmap aligned with both the strategy and MACS 2030 goals.



This role is designed to support a range of teams to determine best practice and evidence-based approaches to uplifting results across a large system of schools. This role would suit an candidate with broad and varied experience in large education organisations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Represent MACS and liaise with peak bodies, providers and networks on programs and initiatives related to evidence-based teaching and learning research, including science of learning, cognitive science and explicit instruction.
- Lead, develop and implement system-wide initiatives and projects aligned to the overall strategic direction. This involves creating curriculum and assessment resources, as well as teaching and learning materials that incorporate multi-tiered systems of support and professional learning programs, to strengthen evidence-based teaching and learning practices across all MACS schools.
- Contribute to and advise on best practice curriculum, pedagogy, assessment programs and projects related to evidence-based practice in P-12 education.
- Apply best-practice educational project management, including determining the viability and benefit of existing approaches, and defining new evidence-based solutions and innovations for programs and initiatives.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of policy, guidelines,



schedules and resources related to effective and best practice evidence-based teaching and learning to improve both student outcomes and teacher efficacy.

ABOUT YOU

- Proven ability and demonstrated experience in leading large-scale teaching and learning initiatives across complex education systems or sectors in curriculum, assessment, pedagogy or school improvement.
- Highly developed education project and program management experience and skills, including scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, benefits realisation, communication, stakeholder engagement, and effective reporting.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills, including but not limited to:
- experience in leading and/or coordinating effective teams to produce improved learning outcomes.
- the capacity to effectively communicate across education organisations, principals, teachers, government, teaching associations and external agencies.
- demonstrated high-level writing skills including policy writing, briefings, and communications to schools.

- Demonstrated strong organisational skills and initiative, including the ability to effectively plan, prioritise and manage work in a dynamic setting.

The successful candidate must hold or acquire, and maintain a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and/or Working with Children Check, and must be willing to obtain and maintain a National Criminal History Check.
