Temporary Accountant - Short-Term Contract

Nexus Stone Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis, providing cover while the current accountant is on leave. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can step into an established finance function, work independently and ensure the smooth continuation of day-to-day accounting and payroll activities.

Key responsibilities

- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Processing and managing payroll
- Superannuation and employee entitlements
- Preparing and lodging BAS
- Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero
- Supplier and customer account reconciliations
- Managing payments and following up outstanding accounts
- Assisting with month-end reporting




- General accounting and finance administration

About you

- Highly proficient in Xero
- Good knowledge of Australian payroll, superannuation and BAS requirements
- Confident working independently and taking ownership of the accounts function
- Solid attention to detail and organisational skills
- Able to quickly learn existing processes and systems
- Reliable, professional and comfortable working in a busy business environment
- Experience within the construction, manufacturing or stone industry would be advantageous but is not essential
