This is a rare opportunity to shape a newly created Tax Principal role and become the organisation’s in-house tax expert.

My client are looking for an experienced tax professional who combines deep technical expertise with commercial judgement and the confidence to operate at a senior level. This is not simply a role focused on tax compliance — you will be the trusted adviser on tax matters across the organisation, helping the business navigate complexity, manage risk and make informed commercial decisions.

The opportunity:

This is a newly created position with genuine scope to define what best-practice in-house tax looks like for the organisation. You will have the autonomy to establish priorities, develop frameworks and influence how tax is considered across the business.
For the right person, this is an prospect to move beyond being a technical adviser and become a trusted strategic partner to the organisation — with the visibility, influence and ownership that comes with being the internal tax expert.

The successful candidate will have:

- Significant experience in a senior tax advisory, tax leadership or principal-level role.
- Strong technical knowledge across relevant areas of Australian taxation.
- The ability to interpret complex legislation and turn it into practical commercial advice.




- Strong judgement and a pragmatic approach to tax risk.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to non-tax specialists.
- Experience managing external advisers and working effectively across multiple professional disciplines.
- CA or CPA qualified. CTA or Masters of Tax is desirable
