EXPERIENCED DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS - SLEEPOVER SHIFTS

GPSO – GRIFFITH

Casual and Permanent positions available - must be available to work rostered shifts between 3pm - 9am.

(Must be available for day shifts during induction and training period)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team, primarily working inactive and active night shifts. Applicants must be available to work between 3:00 pm and 9:00 am. The successful candidates will have a solid understanding of person-centred support and experience assisting people with disability to achieve their goals while maintaining their health, safety and wellbeing.

Main duties and responsibilities:

- Assisting Participants with daily living tasks and independent skills
- Provide assistance with personal care, personal hygiene, administration of medication, meal preparation, mobility and transport
- Encourage and prompt independence in all aspects of daily living
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans
- Document services delivered, incidents and report
- Effectively interact with Participants and promote social interaction
- Work a variety of shifts, including afternoon, evening, overnight, active night and sleepover shifts, in accordance with participant needs and roster requirements.





Essential requirements include:

- Compassion and genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities
- Solid verbal and written English skills
- Ability to use technology, such as smart phones and computers
- Awareness of health and safety issues e.g. hazards and risk
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS worker screening
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety and You"
- NDIS Module "Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals"
- Current Drivers’ License and own reliable transport
- Evidence of comprehensive car insurance with business use
- Fit and healthy and meet the inherent requirements as described in the position description
- Minimum 2 years industry experience

Other requirements:

- May be required to complete a National Police Check
- Pre-employment functional assessment (including drug and alcohol screening)
- Ability to be flexible with work hours
- Possess a phone with availability to receive and make calls, access data and send texts
- Possess a private vehicle that may be used for work purposes
