ASR are proud to be partnering with an established disability and allied health provider across Newcastle and the Hunter. Due to growth across their Therapy and Behaviour Support teams, they are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. Part-time will be considered, and flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available.

Applications are welcome from practitioners registered at Core, Proficient, Advanced and Specialist levels.

The Role

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will work with children and adults with complex needs to build skills, improve quality of life and work with key stakeholders. You will work across multiple environments, including SIL homes, family homes, community settings, day programs, schools, private practice and outreach.

On a daily basis, your specific duties will include but are not limited to:

- Completing functional behaviour assessments and evidence-based behavioural assessments
- Developing interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans
- Identifying, documenting and reporting regulated restrictive practices, and driving strategies to reduce and eliminate them
- Meeting NDIS Commission reporting obligations, including monthly restrictive practice reporting
- Delivering implementation training and coaching to support workers, SIL teams, families and schools
- Reviewing and adjusting plans based on data, incident trends and participant progress
- Liaising with support coordinators, plan managers, guardians, clinicians and behaviour support panels
- Managing and prioritising a mixed caseload
- Tracking and measuring clinical outcomes to demonstrate progress
- Working within the NDIS Practice Standards, the PBS Capability Framework and child-safe frameworks

About You

The role will suit a practitioner who is genuinely invested in positive behaviour support and wants to keep growing their clinical skill set. Ideally,



you will have at least 12 months of experience in the NDIS sector and current registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
The successful applicant will offer the following:

- Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Behavioural Science, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of positive behaviour support, restrictive practice authorisation, trauma-informed care and person-centred practice
- Confidence applying functional behaviour assessment, antecedent-based strategies and skill replacement
- Excellent stakeholder communication, with the ability to explain clinical reasoning clearly to support workers, families, coordinators and guardians
- Proven ability to manage a caseload involving complex and escalating behaviours
- A real appetite to progress your proficiency level and develop professionally
- Comfortable working across varied environments and adapting your approach to each
- Sound understanding of confidentiality principles and WHS responsibilities
