About the Opportunity

Davies Stewart is proud to partner with Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global leader serving science with a mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Based at their facility in Adelaide, this exciting job sits within the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) and Chemical Analysis Division (CAD).
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to act as the site’s technical quality anchor. This is a pivotal role, offering an ambitious Candidate the opportunity to drive product and process excellence and build a meaningful career in South Australia.

This role is an ongoing full-time casual prospect, with the successful incumbent potentially moving into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead product and process quality activities across the lifecycle, including New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, and First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Support the deployment and continuous improvement of the site Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Perform and maintain product and process risk analyses (FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA) and provide technical input for non-conformances, CAPAs, audits, and customer complaints.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to investigate and resolve quality issues, warranty claims, and Out of Box Failures (OOBF).
- Develop and maintain critical quality documentation, including control plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Certificates of Compliance.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, R&D;,



and Field Service to strengthen process controls and drive continuous improvement.

About You

To excel in this employment prospect, you will bring a disciplined technical background and a commitment to quality outcomes:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of quality engineering experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams to resolve product and process quality issues.
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving tools (such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Lean tools) and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
