As our delivery footprint continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Engineering Expert to join a high-performing technology team supporting large-scale SAP transformation and modernisation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment.

The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Technical Engineering Expert responsible for the administration, optimisation, support, and modernisation of enterprise SAP platform environments.

This is a senior technical specialist role requiring deep expertise across SAP Basis administration, SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, infrastructure engineering, platform lifecycle management, and enterprise SAP operations.

You will provide technical leadership across the organisation's SAP landscape, ensuring the stability, security, performance, and availability of critical business systems while supporting a significant SAP S/4HANA transformation program.

Working closely with architects, platform engineers, project teams, security specialists, and business stakeholders, you will contribute to the design, migration, optimisation, and future-state architecture of SAP platforms while mentoring internal staff and strengthening organisational capability.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide senior SAP Basis administration and engineering services across complex SAP environments.
- Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, patching, maintenance, and platform lifecycle management activities.
- Manage SAP transports, client administration, system refreshes, and environment management processes.
- Monitor, analyse, and optimise SAP platform performance, availability,



reliability, and operational health.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and Level 3 support for complex SAP platform issues.
- Design and implement high-availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support SAP Security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and policies.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and optimisation of SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA platforms.
- Lead and support SAP migration initiatives, including system conversions, database migrations, and platform modernisation activities.
- Conduct technical assessments, readiness reviews, architecture evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, standards, and support models.
- Provide technical leadership and strategic advice on SAP architecture, lifecycle management, performance optimisation, and migration approaches.
- Mentor internal staff and facilitate knowledge transfer through workshops, documentation, and day-to-day collaboration.
- Support operational releases, project delivery activities, and participate in on-call support or scheduled release work when required.

What You'll Need

- Extensive experience as a Senior SAP Basis Administrator, SAP Basis Engineer, or SAP Technical Engineering Specialist.
- Strong expertise supporting enterprise SAP landscapes including SAP ECC, SAP HANA, and SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Demonstrated experience performing SAP installations, upgrades, patching, transport management, system refreshes, and lifecycle management activities.
- Proven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, migrations, and transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of SAP Basis administration, SAP architecture, landscape management,



and operational support practices.
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA administration, database migration, and system conversion activities.
- Strong knowledge of SAP performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation techniques.
- Experience designing and supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Experience supporting SAP platforms hosted within cloud, hybrid, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Strong Linux administration and enterprise infrastructure knowledge supporting SAP systems.
- Knowledge of ICT security, risk management, compliance requirements, and operational governance frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and technical leadership capabilities.
- Proven ability to mentor technical teams and deliver knowledge transfer initiatives.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills within complex enterprise environments.

Desirable Experience

- Experience supporting large-scale Australian Government ICT environments.
- Knowledge of cloud-hosted SAP and hybrid SAP architecture models.
- Experience delivering SAP modernisation, consolidation, or transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to enterprise platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence frameworks.
- Experience supporting mission-critical business systems with stringent availability requirements.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, infrastructure governance, and technology roadmaps.

Qualifications & Certifications

- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP System Administration (SAP Basis) or equivalent certification.
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA or equivalent certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering SAP S/4HANA migration, transformation, or modernisation programs.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management capabilities.
