Senior Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner

We are looking for a qualified Senior Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Practitioner (with an active 'P' Number registered with NDIS) to join our dynamic team who operate at the forefront of health intervention! The successful candidate will possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, prioritisation and organisational skills including the ability to make decisions, meet deadlines and delegate.

What you'll be doing

- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours and develop tailored positive behavioural support plans

- Implement and monitor the effectiveness of positive behavioural support strategies, making adjustments as needed

- Provide training and support to caregivers and support workers to ensure consistent implementation of the behavioural support plan

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including allied health professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to the individual's care

- Maintain detailed records and contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the individual's support plan

- Advocate for the rights and needs of the individuals you support, ensuring their dignity and wellbeing are prioritised

What we're looking for





- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or occupational therapy

- Minimum 3 years' experience in providing positive behavioural support to individuals with complex needs, such as intellectual disabilities, autism, or challenging behaviours

- Thorough understanding of the principles of positive behavioural support and the ability to design and implement effective interventions

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals, their families, and multidisciplinary teams

- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to respond flexibly to complex and changing situations

- Commitment to upholding the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of the individuals you support
