POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of major construction projects from planning through to completion. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role leads engineering coordination, design management, procurement, cost control, quality and project documentation.

The Senior Project Engineer works closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards. The role also provides leadership and mentoring to Project Engineers and Graduate Engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead engineering coordination, technical planning and project delivery.
- Manage design coordination, drawings, RFIs, approvals and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, WHS and QA/QC requirements.
- Support procurement, tendering and subcontractor engagement.
- Manage project costs, forecasts, variations and cost-to-complete reporting.
- Coordinate subcontractor contracts, claims, invoices and performance.




- Monitor project programs, milestones, sequencing and potential delays.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee project documentation including ITPs, WHS plans, contracts and approvals.
- Monitor material procurement, usage and potential wastage.
- Lead project commissioning, handover and closeout requirements.
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers and Graduate Engineers.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and improved project outcomes.
