The ideal candidate
We are seeking a Sales & Events Tarteist to play a key role in driving our Sephora business. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and brings a robust combination of artistry, sales acumen, and people skills. This role requires a scrappy, passionate, and resilient individual who operates with a high level of professionalism, takes ownership, and is confident working autonomously in an entrepreneurial, ever-evolving environment.
Primary Responsibilities
The key aspect of this role is to function as a tarte brand rep who can drive sales across Sephora stores in Victoria. The applicant must be capable of delivering a memorable, elevated shopping experience for customers seeking tarte and Sephora products.
General store duties: sales & merchandising. Maintaining sufficient stock in drawers and hitting KPIs.
Develop and assess an impactful way to merchandise stock on the floor and in the stock room.
Act as primary day-to-day brand contact for designated stores; achieve targeted sales growth within those stores while staying within budgetary parameters, as outlined by REM
Be the "eyes and ears" of the brand at the store level; provide continual communication of store, product, space/location challenges and/or changes to RM.
Demonstrates a high degree of professional maturity, confidently building, managing,
and owning store-level relationships while acting as a trusted brand representative - navigating peer interactions and public-facing moments with credibility, confidence, discretion, and consistency across both internal teams and external audiences.
Owns weekly communication with the Area Manager through clear, structured recaps highlighting business opportunities, performance outcomes, and key wins; ensures timely completion of post-event reporting and contributes meaningfully to weekly and monthly recaps.
Support tarte in-store merchandising and visual programs, and communicate challenges to RM.
Represent the tarte brand with your image, makeup application (on self) and artistry presentation during training sessions with teams and at events
Be aware of artistry trends and translate that to tarte products/applications in training and event activities
Additional responsibilities:
Collaborate with retail partners to analyse and assess stock needs; relay stock concerns to RM.
Execute In-store events
Qualifications & required skills
Must have 2-3 years of retail sales experience, preferably in the cosmetics industry.
Memorable, positive, professional and enthusiastic presence.
Strong aptitude for product knowledge, brand messaging, artistry, training and selling.
Understanding of/experience working with Sephora will be a plus point.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills; email and phone skills are essential.
Ability to take strategic direction based on sales and business analysis.
Self-motivated, committed and goal-oriented.
Energetic and passionate with an entrepreneurial, flexible spirit.
Physically capable of lifting & moving products around safely.
Flexibility regarding work hours is essential, i.e. must work Saturdays & some public holidays. Normal schedule is Tuesday - Saturday
The applicant will have excellent organisational and communication skills.
Candidates must hold permanent residency status in Australia to be eligible for this role.
