An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.

As an Allied Health Assistant, you are responsible for delivering safe and effective personal care and clinical care under the direct and indirect supervision of an Allied Health practitioner, in accordance with the patient’s needs, goals and preferences to optimise their health and well-being. The position will work alongside Allied Health Team in acute, sub-acute and outpatient community programs. You contribute to the effective and efficient operations of the allied health team by performing a wide range of clinical support and administrative duties to support the work of the Allied Health Practitioner.

About You

- Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant from an Australian registered training organisation
- Hospital experience is essential
- Specialisation in an allied health clinical practice area
- Sound knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of duties to support allied health practitioners
- Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

About Us

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:

- Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology
- A 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatment
- Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge

PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce.
