Welders, Fabricators, Vehicle Body Builders & Handy All-Rounders

At Brimarco, we've spent almost 50 years designing and building specialised trailers and vehicles from our Ballarat workshop. Our work falls into two distinct sides.

On one, we design and manufacture heavy-duty drop deck widening trailers used across Australia in transport, agriculture and industry. Built to handle demanding real-world conditions, they've earned a solid reputation for durability, reliability and value.

On the other, we build highly customised vehicles and trailers used across Australia by government, emergency services and industry - from mobile medical clinics and command centres to libraries, specialist trailers and other one-off units. Every build is different, and our team enjoys turning complex concepts into well-engineered vehicles through hands-on craftsmanship, problem-solving and collaboration.

With several exciting projects about to begin and a strong pipeline of work ahead, we're growing our workshop team across both sides of our business - welders and fabricators for our heavy-duty trailer production, and hands-on tradespeople and all-rounders for our custom vehicle builds. We're looking for people who enjoy hands-on work and being part of a skilled team that takes pride in what they create.

Whichever side you're suited to, don't rule yourself out on experience alone. Day to day, the work runs from MIG welding and fabrication to assembly, fit-out and installation - building heavy-duty trailers or custom vehicles from engineering drawings through to finished units.



We're interested in people from a range of backgrounds: vehicle body builders, welders, fabricators and boilermakers, tradespeople from related industries, and practical people with strong hands-on skills who are keen to learn. Formal qualifications are welcomed but not essential - reliability, practical ability and pride in your work matter most. We're also open to apprentices, so if you're keen to earn your trade with us, say so.

What we're after

Above all, good practical skills, reliability, a safety-first attitude, and pride in your work - however you've built those up. You don't need to tick every box below; any of these is a good start, and we'll teach you the rest.

- Strong hands-on ability and mechanical aptitude, from any trade or practical background
- Fabrication, assembly, sheet metal or fit-out experience
- A background in heavy manufacturing or structural fabrication
- Any experience on custom builds
- Able to read technical drawings, or ready to learn
