Property Maintenance & Gardening — Team Leader or Ready to Step Up

Two types of people will suit this role. You might already be running a maintenance crew and want to do it for a company that works to a higher standard. Or you might have solid hands‑on years behind you and be ready to take the step up into leading the work yourself.

Either way, this is a role with real scope — and a division that’s growing around it.

About Beaches Group

Beaches Group is a building, landscaping and design company based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. We design and construct high-end homes and gardens — and then we look after them.

That’s what makes this different from a standard mowing round. Our maintenance division exists so the properties we hand over keep improving year after year, for clients we’ve often known for a decade. You’ll be caring for gardens our own team designed and built, on properties between Palm Beach and Mosman.

The role

You’ll take ownership of a regular run of established client properties — the standard they’re held to, the programme of works across the seasons, and the quality of what leaves site each day.

The work covers:

- Garden and lawn care — mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, hedging and shaping
- Seasonal programmes — mulching, planting, fertilising and soil conditioning
- Monitoring plant health, and identifying pest, disease and irrigation issues before they become problems
- Pressure washing and general presentation of driveways, decks, paths, walls and facades
- General property maintenance and presentation works
- Running the day — planning the run, managing materials, keeping vehicles and equipment in order
- Directing and developing apprentices and team members on site




- Professional, confident contact with long‑term clients

You’ll report to an experienced team and have the systems, equipment and support to do the job properly.

What you need

- Full working rights in Australia (we are not offering sponsorship for this role)
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Three or more years hands‑on in gardening, landscaping, grounds or property maintenance
- Sound plant knowledge and a practical understanding of how to keep a garden healthy — pruning, soil, feeding, lawn care
- The judgement to work unsupervised, set the standard and hold it
- Confident, professional communication with clients
- Genuine attention to detail — you notice the things other people walk past

What will set you apart

- Experience leading a crew, running a maintenance round, or supervising apprentices
- Cert III in Horticulture or Landscape Construction
- Depth in pest and disease identification, soil science or fertilising programmes
- Irrigation, garden lighting or landscape construction experience
- Chemical handling ticket (AQF3), White Card, small machinery tickets

If you have the hands‑on years but haven’t formally led a team yet, still apply. We’d rather back someone with the right judgement and standards into the step up than hire a title.
