MSS Security is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our VIC/TAS People and Culture team in the Melbourne office, with intrastate travel within VIC and interstate travel to Tasmania. Reporting into the VIC/TAS People and Culture Manager, this role will be the initial point of contact for all HR, ER, and IR queries from allocated portfolios across VIC and TAS.

The duties of the role are, but not limited to:

n

- Support leaders in allocated portfolios with all HR, ER and IR matters by providing expert advice to clients to develop awareness of P&C; policies, to promote compliance and facilitate best practice outcomes and mitigate risk
n
- Foster positive employee relations, promoting engagement and motivation.
n
- Identify and deliver P&C; initiatives in partnership with other People teams to build performance that supports people and business objectives
n
- Support change projects by providing sound advice and guidance on industrial frameworks and best practice
n
- Support leaders to make well informed decisions when dealing with staff and unions by providing strategic recommendations, having assessed risks, opportunities and alternatives
n
- Conduct investigations and make recommendations about employee relations matters including disciplinary processes, bullying, equal prospect, Enterprise Agreement and/or Modern Award interpretations and terminations
n
- Provide informed advice, coaching, and empowering leaders in all matters related to people including providing support through the performance management and disciplinary investigation processes, as required
n
- Talent acquisition management for all corporate roles based in allocated portfolios

- Participate in HR reporting, analytics, and special projects
n
- Identify training needs and work with the Training Specialist to ensure training needs are meet for allocated portfolio
n
- Review and respond to employee queries and feedback
n
- Administer Reward & Recognition and Employee Referral Programs, ensuring employee satisfaction and retention.

About you:

n

n
- Demonstrated human resources business partner, or similar, experience in a unionised environment managing non-complex employee relations matters, including performance matters, investigations and terminations
n
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to present complex information in a simple manner to a range of audiences
n
- Qualifications, or interest to obtain qualification, in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology or similar (desirable)
n
- Comprehensive experience in fast-paced end to end recruitment of corporate role
n
- Strong work ethic, safety awareness, attention to detail and time management
n
- Open to travel intrastate and interstate
n
- Willing to undergo National police check
n
- Full Australian working rights
n
