Position Information

Newtown High School of the Performing Arts is a partially selective (in Dance,Musicand Drama), co-educational, comprehensive schoollocatedon Gadigal Land approximately 5 kms southwest of Sydney CBD. Specific Selection Criteria

1. 1.Current approval to teachDrama and VET Entertainment, with knowledge of relevant NSW curriculum,



assessment and reporting requirements and the capacity to deliver engaging programs across a range of student abilities and year levels.
2. 2.Highly effective teaching practice, with the capacity to design and deliver differentiated Drama programs that meet diverse student needs, including High Potential and Gifted students.
3. 3.Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues and deliver co-curricular Drama programs, including performances, productions, ensembles,workshopsand theatrical activities, with the capacity to direct and manage school productions.
4. 4.Knowledge and experience inStage 5 Design and Media: Film Studies, with the capacity to deliver engaging, practical learning that develops student creativity,confidenceand collaboration.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching prospect.
