Position Information

Tallawong High School is a new school in Sydney’s north west growth corridor, Dharug Ngurra (Country). The school will open with Stage 4 in 2027, growing to full capacity for 1000 students and the first Year 12 cohort in 2031. The school has end-of-trip facilities for staff and is close to public transport. This role is to commence Week 6 Term 4 2026, November 16, in line with new build timelines. All foundation staff will contribute to various elements of establishing a new school, including systems, processes and building our culture of excellence. Our school has close links with local primary schools, particularly Schofields Public School and Tallawong Public School, with a culturally and linguistically diverse community. An innovative Aboriginal Education Cultural Hub will be established on-site,



in partnership with the local AECG and local knowledge holders, and this will inform our central commitment to Aboriginal education across all aspects of our school.

As part of our foundation team, Tallawong High School Teachers will help to build the learning, behaviour and wellbeing structures to ensure we are the first-choice school for families in our local enrolment area. Together we will create a dynamic learning community with rigorous focus on academic excellence through evidence-informed pedagogy, inclusive practice, authentic HPGE programs, university connections, local community links, and a rich program of extra-curricular activities.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach Music with capacity to cultivate a vibrant culture of music through innovative curriculum design and dynamic extra-curricular programs, such as ensembles, performances andwhole-school activities.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships in a current school with students, staff and parents to improve student learning outcomes.




- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies with demonstrated capacity to create inclusive learning environments that benefit all students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
