Due to continued growth and increasing demand for diagnostic imaging services, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Medical Diagnostic Radiographer to join our professional team at Sebastopol with some requirement in our Bacchus Marsh clinic also.

Role Overview

This full-time Medical Diagnostic Radiographer position is responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging examinations, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and ensuring the secure and effective delivery of radiographic services. The successful applicant will work closely with Radiologists, Medical Practitioners,



and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and optimal patient outcomes in accordance with ANZSCO 251211 – Medical Diagnostic Radiographer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Receive and review referrals from Medical Practitioners to perform diagnostic.

Perform a broad range of diagnostic imaging examinations, including Digital X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Bone Mineral Density (BMD), Orthopantomogram (OPG), and other imaging procedures in accordance with clinical protocols.

Review medical referrals and patient clinical information to determine the most appropriate imaging technique, equipment, and examination protocols required to achieve accurate diagnostic outcomes.

Configure and operate specialised medical imaging equipment, selecting appropriate technical parameters to produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimising patient radiation exposure.

Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining examination processes, obtaining relevant clinical information, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring informed participation throughout the procedure.





Accurately position patients and operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images that meet clinical and quality standards while ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety.

Assess the quality and diagnostic suitability of medical images, repeating or adjusting examinations where necessary to ensure optimal imaging outcomes for reporting Radiologists.

Collaborate with Radiologists, Medical Practitioners, and other healthcare professionals by providing relevant procedural information and facilitating the timely delivery of diagnostic imaging services.

Adhere to radiation safety principles, infection prevention measures, and organisational quality assurance procedures to maintain compliance with professional and legislative requirements.

Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and examination data using electronic medical record and radiology information systems while ensuring confidentiality and privacy.

Contribute to the efficient operation of the imaging department by participating in equipment quality control, maintaining imaging standards, and supporting continuous service improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Medical Imagining or equivalent qualification

APHRA registration

VIC Radiation Licence

Proven experience in radiography, particularly in General X-RAY and CT Imagining

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
