In this role, you will:

Provide expert safety leadership across a diverse portfolio of transport infrastructure projects, including rail, bus and maritime programs.

In this role, you will partner with project and business teams to implement and maintain effective WH&S; management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards. You will play a key role in fostering a proactive safety culture, supporting risk management activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that deliver best-practice safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Safety Management Plans across project and business activities
- Provide expert WH&S; advice, supporting teams to identify, assess and control operational, project and psychosocial risks
- Partner with stakeholders to investigate incidents, identify root causes, implement corrective actions and ensure timely close-out of safety issues
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, reports, guidelines,



procedures and communications to support effective governance and compliance
- Support the review and assurance of key project safety documentation, including Safety Management Plans, Operational and Maintenance Plans, Incident Management Plans and O&M; manuals
- Provide specialist advice on WH&S;, Rail Safety National Law and Heavy Vehicle National Law requirements
- Coordinate and support safety audits, contractor compliance activities and safety training programs
- Drive initiatives that enhance safety performance, strengthen organisational capability and exceed compliance obligations

This role reports into the Director for WH&S; Partnering IPE & NSW Motorways.

About You:

For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:

- Expert knowledge and understanding of Rail Safety National Law
- You are a collaborative and influential WH&S; professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience working in complex project or infrastructure environments
- You have a thorough understanding of WH&S; legislation, risk management principles and safety governance frameworks




- Can effectively balance operational priorities while ensuring secure and compliant project delivery

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of critical public transport infrastructure while helping create safer workplaces and stronger safety outcomes.

This is a fixed-term contract until 30th of August 2029. The role follows a hybrid work model, with 50% of working time spent on-site at a TfNSW office or project location.

This is a Grade 9 role, paying between $163,145.00 - $182,721.00 + super. The grade level will be assessed based on your relevant skills, experiences, capabilities, and qualifications etc.
