We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Acting Housekeeping Manager / Senior Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping operation at Mount Buller.

This is a hands‑on leadership role with responsibility for coordinating a team of up to 40 staff during winter, before transitioning to a smaller team and greater operational responsibility during summer.

The Buller Housekeeping Team services two hotels, more than 80 privately owned apartments, as well as staff accommodation, public venues and BSL‑owned offices and facilities.

About the Role

Winter – Peak Season

- Lead and coordinate a housekeeping team of up to 40 staff
- Manage daily work allocations, rosters and operational priorities
- Coordinate cleaning around guest arrivals, departures and high turnover
- Conduct inspections and maintain consistently high standards
- Train, coach and support team members
- Work closely with Front Office, Hotel Management and other departments
- Remain hands‑on and assist with cleaning when required

Green Season – Off-Peak Season

- Lead a smaller team of approximately 3–4 staff
- Undertake deep cleaning and detailed property maintenance
- Coordinate seasonal shutdown and reopening cleans
- Manage stocktaking, ordering and operational preparation
- Prepare accommodation and facilities for the upcoming winter season

This is a varied role requiring someone who can confidently lead a team, make decisions, manage competing priorities and get hands‑on when needed.

About You

Essential:

- Previous supervision or team leadership experience
- Solid organisation,



communication and time‑management skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and changing environment
- Full Australian driver’s licence and full Australian working rights
- Flexibility to work early/late shifts and participate in an on‑call roster
- Ability to live on Mount Buller throughout winter and summer
- Physically capable of performing hands‑on housekeeping duties

Desirable:

- Housekeeping, commercial cleaning, hotel, resort or hospitality experience
- Experience leading larger teams
- Rostering, stock control or inventory experience

The position is fixed‑term to provide management coverage, with potential for an ongoing management opportunity subject to operational requirements and performance.

Important Information

This is a live‑in position. The successful applicant must reside on Mount Buller throughout both winter and summer.

Working Holiday Visa holders will not be considered.
The role involves physically demanding housekeeping duties, early/late shifts and participation in an on‑call roster.
