Kardinia Dental is seeking an experienced Oral Hygienist/Oral Health Therapist to join our dedicated team in Geelong, Victoria. This is a 4 days a week, part-time permanent position that offers flexibility whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our commitment to promoting oral health and preventative care within our community. You will work collaboratively with a dentist to deliver comprehensive oral hygiene services and patient education, contributing significantly to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

- Providing professional oral hygiene treatment, including scaling, polishing and root planing for patients of all ages
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and documenting findings accurately in patient records
- Delivering oral health education and preventative care advice to patients
- Taking and processing intraoral and extraoral radiographs in accordance with radiation safety guidelines
- Maintaining a clean, secure and organised clinical environment
- Supporting patients with special needs and managing anxious patients with sensitivity and professionalism
- Contributing to the implementation of infection control and sterilisation protocols

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Dental Board of Australia as an Oral Health Therapist or Oral Hygienist
- Minimum of 2 years' clinical experience in oral hygiene or oral health therapy
- Strong knowledge of periodontal disease prevention and management




- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and engage patients effectively
- Professional approach to patient confidentiality and data protection
- Ability to work effectively with the team
- A genuine commitment to providing quality patient care and oral health promotion
