National Wheel Loader Product Manager – Dealer Development & Factory Support

This is a growing global heavy equipment manufacturer that already has an established presence in Australia and is now taking another significant step forward with the introduction of a new range of wheel loaders into the Australian market. This isn't a case of simply dropping another machine into an existing product catalogue and hoping it sells. The business wants to get this right, the first time. That means making sure its Australian dealers have the product knowledge, marketing support, parts support and factory backing they need to confidently take the range to market. Just as importantly, it means making sure the factory receives genuine feedback from Australian users, so the machines continue to evolve around the requirements of our construction, quarry and mining industries. That's where this position kicks in.

The Organisation

The Position

There are essentially two major components to this role. Firstly, you'll support the Australian dealer network in taking this new wheel loader range to market. You'll work closely with dealers to make sure they have what they need to successfully represent and sell the product range. That will include:

- Product and sales support across the wheel loader range.

- Assisting dealers with marketing material and product information.

- Coordinating technical,

parts and factory support.

- Supporting dealers on significant customer opportunities and major tenders.

- Becoming involved when large quarry, construction or mining customers require OEM/factory-level input.

- Helping dealers properly position the machines against established competitors.

- Providing the confidence and product knowledge required when introducing a new range into the market.

The second component of the role's of equal importance. You'll become a key-link between the Australian market and the manufacturing facility. Australian operating conditions aren't always the same as those in other parts of the world, particularly once equipment starts working in demanding quarry and mining applications. Your job will be to understand what the market's telling you and communicate that back to the factory. You'll provide practical feedback around machine performance, specifications, features, attachments and application requirements, identifying where refinements or modifications may help make the product better suited for Australian customers. This could involve anything from specification and configuration through to additional features, product improvements or modifications required for particular Australian applications. You'll essentially have a voice in how this wheel loader range develops in the Australian market.

The Candidiate

I want to be very explicit on this point, Wheel Loader experience is essential. This isn't a position for someone who has sold general capital equipment and thinks they can learn wheel loaders along the way. We're looking for somebody who already has a deep understanding of wheel loaders and experience selling or supporting them within the Australian construction, quarry or mining markets. You might currently be working for an OEM,

distributor or major equipment dealer in a product management, sales, business development or application-focused position. The exact title on your business card isn't particularly important, your knowledge is.

You’ll need to understand the machines, their applications, the customers who buy them, the competitive landscape and what dealers need from an OEM when they're trying to win business. Just as importantly, you’ll need to be comfortable communicating that information back to a factory and having sensible, technically credible conversations around product development and improvements.

We’re looking for someone with:

- Extensive wheel loader sales, product or application experience.

- Solid knowledge of the Australian construction, quarry and/or mining markets.

- Experience working with heavy equipment dealers and major end-user customers.

- An understanding of how wheel loaders are specified and configured for different applications.

- The ability to support complex or high-value equipment opportunities.

- Robust commercial awareness.

- The ability to translate customer and dealer feedback into meaningful product recommendations.

- Confidence dealing with both Australian customers and an international manufacturing team.

The Opportunity

What makes this position interesting is the timing, you're not walking into a mature product range where everything has already been decided. You'll be involved while this wheel loader business is being developed in Australia. You'll work with the dealers selling the machines, the customers operating them and the factory building them. If you know wheel loaders, understand the Australian heavy equipment market and like the idea of playing a genuine part in establishing and refining a recent product range, this is worth a conversation. Once again, genuine wheel loader experience is essential for this position.

If you've got that experience and this sounds like the sort of challenge you've been waiting for, this is truly a 'career defining opportunity' and a role where you can make a serious mark in the Wheel Loader marketplace.
