- Location: Parramatta
- Temporary - Full-Time (35 HPW) immediate start up until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of a further 12-month extension
- Legal Officer Grade 6, base salary $170,841 - $174,440, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role The role sits in the Real Property team in Commercial and Property within DCJ Legal, working with DCJ Infrastructure and Assets to deliver the disability housing program under the Better Homes Strategy. This strategy focuses on improving housing outcomes for existing residents by providing better accommodation options, supporting transitions, and enabling redevelopment into Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) through long-term leasing. What You’ll Do To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a solid foundation in property and administrative law, along with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to managing and delivering legal services on complex and high-profile matters. You’ll have experience working collaboratively in a team environment and will have developed stakeholder management skills. You’re confident engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and have the ability to provide clear, practical advice.

You’ll have experience and expertise in

- general property transactions and advice including acquisition and disposals, property transfers, title and tenure issues, caveats and other encumbrances affecting government owned property.
- drafting, preparation, negotiation and interpretation of leasing agreements and licences, including complex commercial leases for Government
- providing legal advice on a broad range of leasing matters including leasing risk, compliance, administration and dispute resolution.

The ideal candidate will be a senior lawyer (minimum 6 years PQE) looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll have demonstrated experience in providing clear, pragmatic legal advice and have begun developing a track record of mentoring junior staff.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you’ll be working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to build trusted, strategic relationships.



You’ll contribute to providing legal assistance on complex property transactions in the disability housing sector and will be eager to build a track record of success.
