Join the Child Protection Team at John Hunter Children's Hospital and use your clinical expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and families. You'll be part of a passionate multidisciplinary team working across nursing, medical, allied health and key partner agencies, including DCJ and NSW Police, to provide secure, coordinated and trauma-informed care.

This is an opportunity to lead, advocate and influence practice while helping strengthen child protection services and improve outcomes across Hunter New England Health.

What You'll Bring And Do As a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, you'll provide specialist clinical leadership across complex child protection presentations. You'll use your expertise to guide assessment, care coordination and consultation while supporting high-quality clinical practice across the service.

In This Role, You'll
n
n
Lead complex assessments, investigations and care coordination.
n
Manage the Child Protection CNC Clinic, including triage and consultations.
n
Provide specialist advice, education and clinical supervision.
n
Collaborate across multidisciplinary and interagency teams.
n
Advocate for children, young people and families.
n
Drive service improvement and strengthen clinical practice.
n
n
You'll Bring
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant child protection and/or acute care experience.
n
Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience, including 3 years in the relevant specialty.
n
Relevant approved postgraduate nursing qualifications.
n
Strong clinical leadership, assessment and care coordination skills.
n
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
n
A commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred and family-inclusive care.
n
Resilience, adaptability and cultural competence.
n
n
Experience in paediatrics, education, clinical leadership or service development will be highly regarded.
n
