About The Role
n
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide individualised, person-centred support to people with disabilities in accordance with their support plans, goals, and preferences.
n
Your Responsibilities May Include
n
Direct Support
n
n
Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting
n
Supporting daily living activities such as meal preparation, household tasks and community access
n
Assisting with mobility, transfers and the use of assistive equipment
n
Administering medication in accordance with training and organisational procedures
n
Supporting mealtime management and specialised dietary requirements where required
n
n
Health and Wellbeing
n
n
Supporting participants to attend health and medical appointments
n
Providing High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (where appropriately trained)
n
Following health-related instructions provided by medical professionals
n
n
Positive Behaviour Support
n
n
Implementing Behaviour Support Plans
n
Recording and reporting behaviours of concern
n
Following protocols relating to restrictive practices
n
n
Documentation and Compliance
n
n
Maintaining accurate progress notes and incident reports
n
Following participant risk assessments and support plans
n
Adhering to organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, and workplace health and safety obligations
n
n
Goal-Oriented Support
n
n
Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals
n
Encouraging independence, skill development and community participation
n
Promoting inclusion and meaningful engagement within the community

Essential Requirements
n
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Working with Children Check
n
Current CPR Certificate
n
Current Australian Driver Licence
n
Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
n
Demonstrated experience supporting people with diverse disabilities
n
Willingness to travel between participant locations
n
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
n
n
Desirable Qualifications And Experience
n
n
Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability, or a related qualification (or currently studying)
n
Experience supporting people with disabilities
n
Experience working with complex support needs or behaviours of concern, implementing strategies outlined in Behaviour Support Plans.
n
Understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approaches
n
Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards
n
Experience with digital documentation systems
n
n
