Job Description
The Team
n
The Intensive Family Engagement Service (IFES) supports families that are assessed as experiencing complex issues impacting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. The delivery of support aims to build capacity in the family to provide a safe and secure home environment for the children and young people.

The IFES team is a dynamic, child focused service dedicated to family preservation and strengthening parental capacity. We work collaboratively with families, community partners, and other support services to ensure children can remain safe, supported, and connected to their families wherever possible. About The Role
n
This is a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will build deep expertise while working within a specialised team to support such as Intake, Assessment, Case Management or Out of Home Care. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and young people by:

Responding to and assessing reports of children at risk of harm
n
Working directly with families to improve safety, stability and wellbeing
n
Managing cases and coordinating interventions with other professionals
n
Preparing reports and participating in court processes when required
n
Building strong partnerships with children, families and service providers
n
n

About You
n
You bring compassion, a strong sense of purpose and you have:
n

Experience or knowledge in casework, community work, social work or human services
n
The ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions
n
High levels of resilience, emotional intelligence and integrity
n
A genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing
n
n
We are looking for
n
Essential
n
n
Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment.
n
A tertiary qualification approved by the relevant National Board, for example a Bachelor of Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the relevant National Board or professional association; or
n
An alternative tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties, for example Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology, Bachelor of Youth Work, Bachelor of Psychological Science; or
n
An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (AQF Level 5 or 6 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties, for example a Diploma in Community Services.
n
Driver's Licence.
n

Relevant experience in case
management/casework




practice within a child safety or similar context or experience within the broader human/family services sector in particular child/maternal health, mental health, drug and alcohol, community health or youth health.
