About Our Client: Our client is a global leader in equipment, technology and services for the mining and aggregates industries.
Based in Forrestfield, their busy manufacturing workshop is seeking experienced tradespeople and operators to join a safety-focused and supportive team.
About the Roles/s: We are seeking an experienced Trades Assistant to join our client's fabrication team.
This hands-on role will support qualified tradespeople with the fabrication, assembly and repair of mining equipment and components.
Key Responsibilities: Assist Boilermakers and Fabricators with workshop tasks.
Prepare materials and components for fabrication and assembly.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Assist with grinding, cutting, drilling and general metal preparation.
Move materials and equipment around the workshop.
Complete basic assembly and component-cleaning tasks.
Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work area.
Follow all safety procedures, work instructions and quality standards.
Perform general workshop and housekeeping duties as required.
Required Qualifications Experience: Previous experience as a Trades Assistant in a fabrication, engineering or heavy industrial workshop.
Experience using hand and power tools, including grinders and drills.
Understanding of workshop safety procedures and safe work practices.
Construction White Card.
Current Australian driver's licence and reliable transport.
Forklift licence is highly regarded.
Overhead crane, dogging or rigging tickets are advantageous.
Ability to complete physically demanding and manual tasks.
Strong reliability, attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
