Meaningful Aboriginal community-focused mental health work Flexible part-time opportunity with a supportive multidisciplinary team Culturally safe, trauma-informed and holistic clinical practice We are seeking a Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) to join a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering culturally safe and trauma-informed mental health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across South West Sydney.
This is a meaningful clinical role providing assessment, counselling and therapeutic intervention to individuals and families experiencing a range of mental health and complex needs.
About the Role You will provide evidence-based psychological and therapeutic support across a diverse caseload, working closely with clients, families, community members and other health professionals.
Key responsibilities include: Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualised care plans Provide evidence-based psychological and therapeutic interventions Deliver counselling and recovery-focused support Support clients experiencing complex mental health, stress and/or trauma Apply trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred approaches Provide culturally responsive and culturally safe clinical support Work collaboratively with families, carers and external service providers Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case planning and clinical discussions Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and reports About You AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work Experience providing mental health assessment,
counselling and therapeutic interventions Experience working with complex mental health and psychosocial needs Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice Strong communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Genuine commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities Experience in Aboriginal health, community health or AOD settings will be highly regarded Commitment to ongoing professional development Current NSW Driver's Licence Working With Children Check and National Police Check What's On Offer Meaningful work within an Aboriginal community-focused health environment Part-time position with flexible working arrangements Supportive multidisciplinary team Diverse clinical caseload across mental health and complex needs Ongoing professional development and clinical support Culturally safe and trauma-informed practice Opportunity to make a genuine difference within the community Why This Role?
