Job Description

Lead enterprise data engineering while staying hands-on with design, development and delivery
n
12-month contract + 12-month extension
n
Must be an Australian Citizen with Baseline clearance - NV1 desirable
n

Take on a senior data engineering role where you'll combine hands-on development with technical leadership across complex enterprise data initiatives.
n
You'll work across data integration, ETL, analytical datasets and enterprise data platforms, providing technical direction while still getting into the detail of SQL, data modelling, code reviews and implementation.
n
The Role
n
As a Data Engineer, you'll work closely with architects, analysts, developers, testers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and maintainable data solutions while helping improve engineering practices across the broader team.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Designing and developing enterprise data integration solutions, ETL processes and analytical datasets
n
Leading technical delivery of new data assets from design through to deployment and operational support
n
Providing technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews and implementation guidance
n
Developing and optimising SQL, data models and supporting technical solutions
n
Improving data delivery frameworks,
development standards and engineering practices
n
n
About You
n
We're particularly interested in:
n
n
Strong experience across enterprise data warehouse platforms such as MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift or Databricks
n
Advanced SQL, including optimisation, troubleshooting and reverse engineering existing code
n
Programming experience with Python, SAS, R and/or Java
n
Robust understanding of data models, technical specifications and solution designs
n
Experience working within DevOps environments, including version control and structured release management
n
Experience with AWS, S3, Glue or equivalent cloud technologies would be highly regarded
n
