About the role
The Visitor Services Officer supports the day-to-day operations of the Mount Field Visitor Centre, delivering high-quality customer service and visitor information within Mount Field National Park.
In this varied role, you will provide information on walking tracks, park facilities and visitor safety, assist with the sale of park passes and retail products, undertake cash handling and administrative duties, and contribute to stock control and visitor centre operations. You will also provide guidance and support to less experienced staff and help ensure the effective delivery of visitor services.
Located within one of Tasmania's oldest national parks, this role offers the opportunity to work amongst towering forests, waterfalls and diverse wildlife, experiencing everything Mount Field has to offer, from the vibrant autumn colours of the Fagus to winter snowfalls and a busy summer visitor season.
This is a permanent part-time position working ***** hours per fortnight, in accordance with an approved roster.
Delivers excellent customer service and communicates effectively with a diverse range of visitors and stakeholders.




Demonstrates sound administrative skills, including experience using computer systems and point of sale software.
Has an interest in Tasmania's parks, natural and cultural heritage, and outdoor recreation.
Can provide guidance and support to less experienced staff.
Is well organised, uses initiative, and can manage competing priorities.
