Opportunity to have a large impact, building mines from early stages of operational readiness, being involved from the very beginningPlay a key part in supporting MinRes' rapidly growing position in the lithium sector and be part of the growthMinRes Employee share plan + Great employee benefitsThe Opportunity As the Senior Underground Mining Engineer, you will play a key technical role in supporting the onsite restart and ramp-up of the underground mine at the Mount Marion Operation, helping guide the project through to steady-state production.This position will commence on an 8D6X roster, flying from Perth.Reporting to the Underground Superintendent, this role will support the delivery of safe, efficient and practical underground mine plans, schedules and technical outputs.
You will work closely with operations, contractors and corporate technical teams to develop and implement mine planning processes, optimise execution plans and ensure technical functions are aligned with operational readiness and production requirements.Key Responsibilities:Support the development and execution of underground mine plans, schedules, physicals, costs and infrastructure plansDeliver short-term mine planning and scheduling activities to support operational readiness and steady-state productionProvide technical input across underground design, drill and blast, ventilation, geotechnical, pastefill and infrastructure requirementsWork collaboratively with the Underground Superintendent, operations teams and contractors to ensure plans are practical, safe and executableMonitor performance against plan, identify variances and support the development of corrective actionsAssist with contractor coordination,
performance monitoring and compliance from a technical and operational planning perspectiveCollaborate with corporate commercial and technical teams to support contracting strategies, mine planning deliverables and project ramp-up requirementsSupport the development and implementation of underground planning systems, processes and reporting toolsWhat is Required:Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalentWA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency required and a current Schedule 26 Certificate highly regardedStrong underground mining engineering experience, ideally within large-scale mechanised long-hole stoping with pastefill operationsExperience supporting underground project ramp-up, operational readiness or transition into steady-state productionStrong capability in short-term mine planning, scheduling, design and operational supportFamiliarity with relevant underground mining software and technologiesSound understanding of contractor coordination, performance monitoring and compliance requirementsAbility to work closely with operational, technical and corporate stakeholders to deliver practical outcomesGrowth mindset with solid communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skillsAbout Mt Marion Mt Marion is located 40km south-west of Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.
MinRes manages all mining activities at Mt Marion, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes (SC6 equivalent).
