Where you’ll be working
You will lead an established emergency medicine department while maintaining direct clinical engagement as a specialist practitioner. The service provides critical coverage across a regional network managing approximately 60,000 presentations annually, backed by on-site specialty services including general surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics, and intensive care. Supported by robust telemedicine programs and around-the-clock diagnostic access, the department maintains strong accreditation for ACEM training alongside RACGP and ACRRM advanced skills pathways. In this dual position, you will work alongside experienced consultants, registrars, and resident medical officers, providing strategic leadership, driving clinical governance, and mentoring the next generation of emergency clinicians.

Salary
This role offers a total remuneration package structured under the relevant state medical award, combining base clinical earnings with dedicated executive allowances.



The base salary range is $222,789 to $319,701 per annum (pro rata), supported by 12% superannuation. Additional financial inclusions include a motor vehicle allowance of $30,254 per annum, a private practice scheme or allowance in lieu (35%), a regional recruitment and retention allowance (20%), a dedicated management allowance (up to 15%), and a Continuing Professional Development allowance of $17,483 per annum, alongside options for salary packaging.

The estimated full-time equivalent total package ranges from $380,000 to $545,000 per annum depending on seniority and applicable allowance calculations.

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent.
