Corrimal Dental is seeking a skilled Hygienist/Oral Health Therapist to join our dental practice. Based in Corrimal this role is essential to our commitment to delivering comprehensive oral healthcare services to our patients. As a Hygienist/Oral Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in promoting preventative dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and supporting our clinical team in delivering high-quality dental treatments. This position offers the flexibility of part-time work while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and practice efficiency.
What you'll be doing
Conducting comprehensive oral health assessments and screenings for patients across all age groups
Performing professional teeth cleaning, scaling and root planning procedures to manage periodontal disease
Applying preventative treatments including fluoride applications and fissure sealants
Educating patients on effective oral hygiene techniques and the importance of preventative care
Taking and processing dental radiographs in accordance with radiation safety guidelines
Recording detailed patient histories and documenting clinical findings in patient records
Maintaining a clean, organised and sterile treatment environment
Building positive relationships with patients to ensure a comfortable and welcoming experience
Contributing to the practice's commitment to infection control and health and safety standards
What we're looking for
Current registration with the Dental Board of Australia as a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist
Demonstrated clinical competency in preventative and therapeutic dental procedures
Strong knowledge of oral health promotion and patient education techniques
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex dental concepts in an accessible manner
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation
Compassionate and patient-centred approach to patient care
Flexibility and reliability in meeting practice scheduling requirements
Experience working in a private dental practice is advantageous
Familiarity with dental practice management software would be beneficial
