About the role

East Pilbara Earthmoving is seeking experienced Road Transport and Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our dynamic team in the Pilbara region, Western Australia. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining and servicing the heavy diesel fleet that supports our mining and earthmoving operations in the East Pilbara. You will be responsible for ensuring our vehicles remain in peak operating condition, minimising downtime and maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability. This role is essential to our operational success and requires a skilled, dedicated professionals who can work both independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel vehicles, trucks and earthmoving equipment

- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults in accordance with manufacturer specifications

- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues before they impact operations

- Service engines, transmissions, differentials and other critical components

- Replace and repair worn parts including brakes, suspension systems and hydraulic systems

- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work completed

- Operate diagnostic equipment and testing tools to identify mechanical problems

- Work collaboratively with other mechanics and workshop staff to meet maintenance schedules

- Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements and procedures

- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards

What we're looking for

- Current Heavy Diesel Mechanic qualification or equivalent recognised certification

- Proven experience working on heavy diesel engines and commercial vehicles in a mining or earthmoving environment

- Robust knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems in heavy vehicles

- Competency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools

- Valid HR driver's licence (Australian)





- Understanding of workplace health and safety standards and a commitment to safety practices

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Physical capability to perform heavy mechanical work and lift heavy components

- Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic

- Experience with vehicle maintenance management systems or fleet management is desirable

- Knowledge of mining industry operations and requirements is advantageous
