Join Our Team as an Canine Care Specialist

Love dogs? Thrive in a fast-paced environment? Want to be part of an exciting period of growth?

Take the Lead Canine Services is looking for our next superstar Canine Care Specialists to join our growing team.

Located on our beautiful 23-acre farm in Two Wells, South Australia, we are a family-owned canine facility providing farm style boarding, training, daycare and enrichment experiences for dogs across South Australia. As we continue to grow and evolve, we're looking for passionate, reliable people who want to help us deliver an exceptional experience for both our dogs and their owners.

Whether a dog is staying for a weekend away or an extended training and boarding program, our goal is simple: provide the highest standard of care every single day.

What does a Canine Care Specialist do?

They are the heart of our facility.

They are responsible for ensuring every dog receives outstanding care while maintaining the exceptionally high standards our clients know us for. No two days are ever the same. One moment you'll be preparing breakfast and cleaning accommodation, the next you'll be supervising dogs in our daycare yards, taking them on enrichment adventures or helping ensure every guest is settled, comfortable and happy.

This role includes, but is not limited to:

- Cleaning and sanitising boarding accommodation to an exceptional standard.

- Feeding and caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments.

- Monitoring health, behaviour and wellbeing, reporting concerns to leadership.

- Managing and supervising daycare groups.

- Providing enrichment activities including country walks,

treadmill sessions and other premium experiences.

- Maintaining facility cleanliness and presentation.

- Stock management and daily operational tasks.

- Working alongside trainers and leadership to provide outstanding care.

This role is for you if...

- You genuinely love dogs.

- You have an incredible work ethic.

- You're physically fit and enjoy being active.

- You're reliable and turn up when you say you will.

- You enjoy working outdoors.

- You take pride in doing the little things well.

- You can work independently while also contributing to a team.

- You remain calm in busy environments and can think on your feet.

- You're willing to learn and constantly improve.

This role is NOT for you if...

- You're looking to spend all day cuddling puppies.

- You dislike cleaning.

- You don't enjoy working outdoors.

- You don't like getting dirty.

- You're uncomfortable around large dogs.

- You're unable to work weekends or public holidays.

- You struggle in physically demanding roles.

Cleaning is a significant part of this position. Our dogs deserve spotless accommodation every single day, and maintaining these standards is one of the most important responsibilities within our facility.

Experience

Previous experience within the animal industry is not essential.

What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn, reliability and commitment to providing exceptional care. Full training will be provided by our experienced team.

Working Environment

Our facility operates seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Canine Care Specialists work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays. Shifts generally fall between 6:30am and 6:30pm, with early starts and varying finish times depending on operational requirements.

This position averages 15-25 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours as the business continues to grow.

As we operate on a farm, you'll need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions, from hot summer days to cold winter mornings and rainy afternoons. We simply adjust how we care for the dogs, not the standard of care they receive.

What you'll receive

- Full on-the-job training.

- Opportunities to learn from experienced canine professionals.

- A supportive family-owned workplace.

- A varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

- The opportunity to be part of an exciting period of growth and help shape the future of our facility.

- Plenty of dog cuddles... once the work is done.
