Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapist to join our aged care team. The successful applicant will provide evidence-based physiotherapy services to older adults in residential aged care facilities and/or the community. The role focuses on improving mobility, maintaining independence, reducing pain, preventing falls, and enhancing the quality of life of elderly clients through person-centred care.
Key Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for our residents.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Deliver exercise programs to improve strength, balance, mobility, flexibility, and functional independence.
- Assess and manage pain, mobility limitations, falls risk, and age-related musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
- Provide mobility and transfer assessments and recommend appropriate mobility aids and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, general practitioners, occupational therapists, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with legislative and qualified standards.
- Educate residents, carers, and staff on safe manual handling, falls prevention, and mobility strategies.
- Participate in case conferences, quality improvement activities, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience
- Recognised degree in Physiotherapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in aged care or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of physiotherapy practices relevant to older people, including pain management, falls prevention, and mobility enhancement.
- Understanding of AN-ACC funding and its clinical implications in aged care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to manage time and workload across multiple services and adapt to changing priorities.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Salary Range: AUD 85,000 – 110,000 per annum
Pay: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
