Anglicare are currently seeking to hire a Permanent Full Time Financial Accountant to join our corporate office based in Fortitude Valley. The overall purpose of the Financial Accountant, is financial statement preparation, statutory reporting and day to day implementation of contemporary financial accounting standards and practices. The role is required to provide timely and accurate reconciliations, cash management, monthly and year-end reporting services.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and distribute key accounting reports including monthly,
year-end and ad-hoc financial statements
- Provide subject matter expertise on treatment of individual accounting
transactions including journals, reconciliations, cash flow management, taxation treatment and acquittals and offer support to project teams as required
- Provide subject matter expertise on treatment of Prudential compliance in
accordance with Aged Care Act 1997
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations and technical reports as requested
- Contribute to technical research solutions to complex financial reporting
issues
- Support a customer service culture within the team by assisting to meet
agreed service standard
- Share ideas to promote client satisfaction, improve systems and processes,
and deliver outcomes
Position Specific Credentials, Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Current National Police Check (or ability to attain)
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or similar
- Professional Accounting qualification (CA, CPA)
- Financial accounting experience in a large organisation with a significant
number of designated cost centres
- Proven skills in providing high quality financial reporting services to a
variety of stakeholders
- Previous use of a standard ERP system eg. SunSystems, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP
or similar
- Experience in a high volume transactional accounting environment, working to
strict deadlines and time constraints
- High quality written & oral communication skills including the preparation of
briefing notes and reports
