The Role - What You’ll Do
In this crucial role, you will lead the development and support of our current mobile game using Unity. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will take ownership of game client modules, optimize performance, and manage the deployment pipelines for mobile platforms.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Feature Development: Architect and develop clean, robust game client modules using Unity and C#.
- Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Partner tightly with designers, artists, and backend developers to clarify requirements and smoothly implement new features.
- Milestone Management: Work alongside project leaders to ensure technical deliverables consistently meet project timelines.
- Client-Side Optimization: Proactively propose, troubleshoot, and optimize solutions for various client-side performance and architectural issues.
- Release Engineering: Oversee and manage the end-to-end release and publishing processes for both iOS and Android versions of the game.
What You Bring - Key Skills & Traits
Essential
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the mobile gaming sector with successfully shipped titles under your belt.
- Extensive, demonstrable experience with Unity development, specifically showcasing high proficiency with Unity UGUI.
- Deep familiarity with native iOS/Android app development nuances and their respective app store publishing ecosystems.
- A genuine passion for writing robust, flexible, and extendable gameplay systems that empower designers and artists.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical work experience.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record in cross-cultural collaboration. Absolute proficiency in English is essential.
- Valid legal rights to work in New Zealand, such as a Work Visa, Residency, or NZ/Australian Citizenship.
Desirable
- Depending on the project's region, proficiency in local languages (such as Mandarin) is highly advantageous for international collaboration.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift based on live-game data and player feedback.
